About the Doctors

At Salmon Creek Oral Surgery and Periodontics, Drs. Craig Wm Wong and Steven D. Hokett offer a full spectrum of oral surgery and periodontal treatment options to all patients in Vancouver, WA and surrounding areas.

Craig Wm Wong, DMD

Dr. Wong is a specialist of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He serves as chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Portland. In the past, he served as chair of the Section of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Southwest Washington Medical Center. Dr. Wong received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1982, completed a general practice residency in 1983, and his oral maxillofacial surgery residency in 1987. He is licensed to practice in Washington and Oregon. Professional memberships include the American Dental Association, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Oregon and Washington Societies of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Wong has been serving patients in Southwest Washington and Portland for more than 18 years. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife and three children.

Steven D. Hokett, DDS

Dr. Steven D. Hokett is a 1983 graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School at San Antonio where he received a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Hokett completed a one-year general practice residency in 1984 and his periodontics residency in 1991.  He served as the assistant director and director of the U.S. Army Periodontics Residency at Fort Gordon, Georgia from 1997 – 2003 whereupon he retired from the U.S. Army Dental Corps. He is a 1994 Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Hokett is currently an assistant professor at the Post-Graduate Residency in Periodontics in the Department of Periodontology at the Oregon Health and Sciences University School of Dentistry. Dr. Hokett is the author or co-author of 22 articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Periodontology, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, General Dentistry, Journal of the American Dental Association, and the Journal of Oral Implantology. He is licensed to practice in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Professional memberships include the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and the Academy of Osseointegration. Away from the office, he enjoys hiking, running and mountain climbing.
